Rob:

I would never have used the wax paper as you risk transferring particles of
wax to the finish on the rod. This could result in "fish eyes" or areas on
the rod where the polymer mix refuses to coat evenly. May I suggest that you
use clean aluminum cooking foil instead of waxed paper.

I don't think that the transfer from the mixing container to the dish was
crucial. It is more likely that the polymer mix adhering to the sides of
your mixing cup was not completely mixed.

My 2 cents worth.......

Last night, I used the syringes as listed in the package, mixing them in a
mixing cup, then transferring to a flat dish covered with wax paper for the
application.

The rod dried rock hard overnight. I should also add that the drying time is
4
hours at 70F, not the 8-12 hours of the stuff I was using.

And interesting note is that I found the mixing cup still sticky this
morning,
The mixing toothpick was rock hard. It may be that the transfer from the cup
to the plate was crucial in removing unmixed resin from the finish coat.
