Actually, I have two applications that I am "toying" with right now.
One is an "epoxy" head for a bucktail minnow streamer. It is really a simple thing. Just a couple or three colors of bucktail tied on a Size 1, Mustad 3366 with a little flash between the layers and then build up the head a little with thread to provide a place for a pair of stick-on eyes. Then I have been adding 5-minute epoxy to the head to make it larger and cover the eyes.
The other application is another "epoxy minnow" pattern. Basically, it has a small amount of hair with a couple of strands of flash for a tail. The underbody is built up thread which is then covered by mylar tinsel. Stick-on eyes are added and the whole body is then covered with epoxy. This fly is usually tied on a size 4 or smaller.
Basically, that's it in a nutshell.
Thanks again for your input.

I use a few things for bodies, whichever best fits the application. I try not to make the body only with the 'substances', but have the substance finish off a material body of some sort.I use vinyl cement, Softex, Super-glue gel and reg., clear nail polish, and once in a while 2-part epoxy. Both vinyl and Softex are much easier to work, stay put, dry fast, and most important- are lighter and softer than epoxy. I have a bunch of the sparkle-body colors, but I find them too time-consuming to shape, so I just use them for paint-eyes. Is there any specific 'head' application you're talking about? If I tried to write about all applications, it would be an epistle, and you know how Jimmy loves to P&M about those.
