Dai-Riki Fluorocarbon Tippet...

3X    .008    8.50    4X    .007    5.60
5X    .006    4.40
6X    .005    3.40

So you can see that different materials will have different strengths
for like diameters. The important thing to consider when looking at
different makers of tippet is to really compare the strengths to the
actual diameters. Some of the makers of "so-called" super strong
tippets are often misleading by stating they have a 5X tippet at 6
lbs...but when you actually measure the diameter of the mono it turns
out to be 4X.

Byard- My rule of thumb is to check the diameter on the product label.  I use the formula .011 minus diameter = Tippet X

I happen to be very fond of the Dai-Riki material...it is very close
to true-to-size and over the years has been very consistent. I've
been using the stuff for over 20 years now. It has very little
memory...a simple stretch will straighten it right out.

Shoot, I ordered velvet and regular last time but didn't know you had florocarbon.  Lina's going to kill me when I place my order again.

BTW...it just happens to be on sale at Line's End right now...;^)))))

still tyin...
