Wes, After switching to a rotary and adapting to its capabilities, I would never return to a non-rotary vise. It did require a period for me to adjust to it, but the quality of my flies went up substantially. What had often been a struggle became a pleasure. Used the Thompson A for about 15 years until switching to a Renzetti 4000 about four years ago. Now I tie most days of the week, and before it was just a few times a year. BTW, the Thompson made me prejudiced against cams in general, and I'll stick with the screw clamped jaws though I've heard them criticized by others.
