I think that's where we were planning on going. Only issue I see to fishing that part of the river is that the path down to the river near the dam is on the north side of the hill, and if the snow hasn't melted off completely, it'll be tricky getting down to the water... Slip slidin' away...

Fish the dam down but forget the way downstream section as this section is usually worthless this time of year. Those riffles in the bend below the dam are sweet with a nymph. Closer to the dam I expect tiny black midges #26 maybe. Try an Iron Brown Midge as depicted on the vfb as there are critters in the grasses up above like these.
