In the latest issue of Fly Tyer, Ian writes about the paraloop style. I tried it for the first time. Since I don't have a gallows pole or the want to make one, I simply rotated my Traveler so the fly is upside down. Using the Quad Turbo dubbing twister with hackle plier attachment, I use this to hold the floss with the help from gravity down. This worked surprisingly well.
I really enjoy tying these flies...You can now really make some neat dubbing combinations... Has anyone tried it with CDC? Does it work well? How do Paraloops fish? This is what I want to know. Looking at the fly, I don't know why I would use a traditional dry fly anymore. I would very much like to hear from other paraloopers. Has there been a paraloop swap yet? I will host if there is interest. 15 swappers Due date May 31st.
