One thing I did get to do this weekend was turn over a couple of rocks. The
"Bait" fisherman at the river didn't like it but I did learn something.
There were a lot of Stone Fly cases attached to the rocks, ( dark brown and
about 1" long ) as well as several fresh water shrimp, ( this surprised me).
And something I don't know what it was, ( it was some sort of "Worm", about
3 inches long and only slightly larger than a couple or 3 human hairs
together), any ideas what this was?

Now, for the shrimp I plan on using some scuds, but for the stone flies, I
am not sure, ( been way to long since I had the chance to fish for trout).
What are most folks favorite patterns for the various "Stone Fly" stages ?
Maybe a Copper John or BHPT Nymph ? Emerger ? Spinner ? Other patterns ?

Want to build up an arsenal to try when we get a chance to return, hopefully
without the "Crowds". This is a small stream, maybe 8 to 10 feet across at
the widest places and has lots of trees the whole way. Will have to work out
something in the way of "Short" rods for Amanda and Theresa, ( 5.5 to 7' and
3 to 5 wt.), another task to do.

Recuperating, and planning
Jimi
