Rob- I'm not that smart about tube flies: however, I have had some success using them.

I bought one of the attachments to tye tubes and it makes it alot easier--cost is about $20.00. I also find that I lose less flies using a tube. I really like them for steellhead in the Pacific NW.

Maybe Tony Spezio can add some thoughts on the "tube flies

I am really interested in tying some tube flies, but until I get the hang of
it and find it useful, I really don't want to invest in any pricey gear.

I have a Renzetti Traveller Cam lock, is there some way that I can hold a tube
still without getting the tube fly head?

What can I use for the tubes? Should I buy the specially designed tubes, or
are there substitutes that are easily available? Metal, Plastic, or ?
