I use paintbrush fibers for legs of ants. In fact I have tied up "Purdy"
ants for Rick's ant swap. I find that when I heat up a bodkin to form
segments in the legs, that the Purdy brush fibers stand up to the heat and
keep their form. Some really cheap paintbrushes I had, worked awful with
the heat (not keeping their form or breaking). Also the Purdy brush fibers
were more consistent fiber to fiber with proper taper.

Good Luck!!

Thanks,

Chris.
