Ginger,

Can't thank you enough for the tip about doing the eyes separately on a plastic coffee can lid.

I went to the Michael's Craft Store and they were actually nice enough to be having a sale on fabric paint, so saved a bunch!

I purchased two different brands, and counting a bottle I already had the colors are:
Tulip Slick - black
Tulip Glitter - gold glitter
Scribbles - golden platinum glitter
Scribbles - white
Scribbles - fluorescent orange

Played around using primarily the glitters as the base blob, then putting a dot of black for the pupil. On others, did a white base with a fluorescent orange rimmed black pupil. Finally a really nice one using golden platinum glitter as the base, and a fluorescent orange rimmed black pupil.

These were all fairly easy to control, and they look fantastic!! I think they are much better than the spendy plastic dome eyes I have been using.

Very pleased and appreciative!

I do all my eyes up ahead of time.
I use a plastic surface like a coffee can lid.
I put small drops of paint, yellow, green, white and
tap the lid so they pool out.
Then after 10 minutes I add the black pupil.
After 2 hours you can peel them off and super glue them on.

I use a brand called tulip slick in yellow and red (mostly red) for
eyes, with black pen or varnish for the pupil.I generally wait 24 hours
before adding the pupils just to be suree the paint is dry. When finished I
epoxy or varnish the eye.
