Check your library for the book "International Guide to Fly-Tying Materials" by Clarke and Spaight. It lists all kinds of fly tying materials and sometimes their substitutes. If you buy one be sure to check the printing date for a recent copy.

Well... I understand dubbed thread and dyed monofilament, but what the heck is Swannendaze and V rib?
