Rene, that large hackle was quite soft; it also had about twice as many
turns as most modern WBs. I second Tony's comment, without weight to
stabilize the swim a WB with long stiff hackle twists. I recently got a
"fly tester" (simulated stream) and so in a few weeks I'll report to the
list how some various designs behave.
