Reuven 1. For saltwater baitfish patterns, what is your one favourite material to > use? For example DNA and so forth.
DNA??? Does that mean live bait?? 2. If you had only half a dozen colours to choose from to cover the main > baitfish (such as mullet, pilchards, etc), what would they be?? Chartruese and white, white and chartruese, chartruese and chartruese...LOL also, shades of blue over white. shades of red & pink over white I like super-hair for the body/shape of large baitfish patterns, with the flash-materials layered out over the top and sides. On med. to small baitfish I use Awesome Hair (Line's End) almost exclusively, with maybe a flash lateral line or a little holo on top. Only with Awesome Hair do I stick with one material. On others, it's a mixture of body, flash, and crystal flash. Polar Air is another popular inshore minnow material. I've also used polar bear successfully. The new crinkle Mirage I got in Denver is incredible- just have to see how it works 'in the field' now.
