Keep it simple and use the time you save for tying. Another advantage with Excel for this is that if you mess something up, you can undo many(!) changes... or just close without saving and you'll have it back next time you open it. Access (or a program)saves the information as you make the changes.

That is a good idea - I will have to think about how to best do it. Maybe I should do it like Peggy and just keep it simple.

Though, for material, where the posts are of the even more individual nature, multiple tables, subtables, advanced relations etc is just a waste of designing time. I sat trying to design a material data base in Access once, but couldn't find a way to make it as "fun" as I wanted it, just because the posts was so unrelated to eachother. No, for material I still think a simple Excel file with an autofilter is the way to go. (That's the way I do it.) Different tables can be made in different spreadsheets and still be kept inside the borders of the one file. If you want automatized functions, you can easily record/write macros and, if you want, also design forms for it in Visual Basic for Applications (both in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel) and create a program in the file... that, again, will STILL keep the information in the one file.Easily backed up or transferred between computers......./Nick-----Ursprungligt meddelande-----
