Speaking purely hypothetically, of course :-)

The potential market is huge.  Not for use in workstations/PCs; unfortunately
Linux will not rule the desktop for the foreseeable future.  

However Linux is being used in embedded devices, home network servers, cable
boxes, etc.  Estimating the size of the market for such a device is like
estimating the size of the market for TiVo-type devices, or other consumer
products.  The market is potentially huge, if the card (or a version of it)
becomes embedded in any of these systems.  

I would expect "everyone" who now owns a VCR to switch to a disk-based TiVo-like
device within the next five years, perhaps with a DVD drive to view rented
movies.  I plan to, but I'm in no hurry.  I'm a mid-to-late adopter :-)
