Hi
I am using the
2.4.0-test4 kernel and I have compiled bttv and the i2c-core and i2c-algo-bit
modules. I have managed to make the xawtv program work twice, but I am
unsure exactly what I did. (I boot into Linux, and it seemed to work, the
next time, it did not.)
So now when I run
xawtv, I get a black screen, but the sound comes out. I can sometimes
change the chanel, (othertimes I cannot). I cannot kill xawtv, xkill kills
the window not the process, killing the consol does not work neither does
killing xwindows. When I try to kill xawtv, using the kill command, it
will usually hang the box (read all the time). I can sometimes kill the
process by performing a shutdown -n -r -t secs: now.
I have read the
docs, there does not seem to be anything, runnig XF86_SVGA --probeonly give the
same reference, as the information from c4l-conf. Is there a certian order
to insert the modules? I have /etc/modules set to automatically load the
modules?
Is there any other
information I should provide? As I said, the card, and xawtv has worked
twice for me. With this kernel and configuration. The only
thing I can think is that the order of the modules makes a real
difference. Also, is there a way to killl xawtv without rebooting the box
(often with a hard reset)
Thanks
Regards
Tim
