I did two things:
1. card=all-possible-options
2. Grabbed the btvv-0.6.4h tarball and did step one again.
nothing worked :-(
I don't think it's actually a bttv driver problem.
I get the same results under windows with the native Hauppauge drivers.
My opinion is, that I really have to patch the drivers.
Perhaps I should contact the bttv driver coders directly,
but I thought they are reading the v4l mailinglist...
