This one in particular seriously reduces ones listening experience.  
Both xawtv and gnomeradio have very 'strident' audio outputs because 
there apparently is no de-emphasis applied.  Even to these 68 year 
old, well abused ears, listening to a std 75 u-second pre-emphasis as 
a default isn't "pleasant".
