I see.  If and when you get the de-emphasis controls working against a 
bt848 (WinTV FM radio GO) or similar card, I might be interested in 
seeing if I could transplant that code into GnomeRadio or XawTV.  At 
persent neither of these seem to have a method of controlling it, and 
the sound is pretty strident.  Do the winderz drivers that come on 
the cd have such controls?

I know just enough C to be dangerous...
