SMIL can be fun to experiment with and is also used for playlists (ie. vlogdir videoblog playlists).

vlog, arent aggregators going to download just the xml file and not
really the movie file itself? (the linkubator tool references a
remote hosted mov file) ... and couldnt this be a problem?
I've seen some 'interactive' movies with constant lag like symptoms
and I'm guessing its related ... that the file keeps gettin
re-downloaded each time the small xml file is viewed rather than
gettin played locally.
