Just a note about the title of the article and some of the theory that
people have come up with that last few years. I deal with a lot of artists
and I've seen zero cases where copyright has strangled creativity. It may
hurt their film not to have a certain clip or music, or cost a lot of money
which people used to know how to raise to pay for such things, and some
films cannot be released now without a ton of copyright work, but I have
never seen a real artist who couldn't figure out a solution or a way around
it. In fact, most of the great filmmakers I've met know ways to create works
that don't have copyright entanglements later on.

Yes, copyright laws need to be rewritten and Lessig makes many good points
(though not totally to my liking), but this specific argument is one that
really annoys me.
