Hello Jessica, We have some vendors who, after we send them a copy of our tax-exemption certificate, are able to set up our account to not charge sales tax. We occasionally run into an Amazon marketplace vendor who tries to charge us sales tax, even though Amzon.com does not. If this is not caught at the time of the order, we have to send a copy of our certificate to the seller and work on getting a refund. And since we are an educational institution of the state, not paying sales tax is not a local rule that we came up with.

Would not be worth it to them and your rule costs money in the end as I am sure the savings of ordering from them where stuff is nearly always on a good sale is far more than the tax. It reminds of a situation years ago where a major college that rented heave 35mm prints could not pay shipping as a separate charge. Well we had add DOUBLE shipping all their invoices because we had to pay 50% royalty to owners on film rentals which added about an extra $60 per order.. It took a few years but they finally got the message and changed the policy On Thu, Apr 17, 2014 at 1:17 PM, Michael Phillips <mphil...@library.tamu.edu<mailto:mphil...@library.tamu.edu>> wrote: Hello Jessica, We cannot pay the tax. Michael if you wait for their regular 25% off sales it might be worth paying tax. I would compare the Amazon and WB pricing as it seems Amazon has far less sale pricing these days. To be blunt it is not like you have a choice.Warner Bros pioneered the idea of putting out rare and wonderful films whose sales could not possibly justify a full on DVD release and now they have gotten access to other studio archives there are hundreds if not thousands of films available thanks to them. I have run by several titles from this series and all of them appear to be DVD-Rs created on demand, which frankly is a concern of mine for playability and lifespan of the discs. Are my concerns unfounded or should we stay away from titles in this series? Thanks in advance! -- Josh Moorman Head Librarian New York Film Academy - Los Angeles Robert K.
