It works for me. I mapped ':map ]v *' and it just works; there is no problem as you describe. On one hand, why don't you use * and #' they are shorter and they find next or prev occurence of word under cursor. On the other hand, my timeout&ttimeout settings might be different, I adjusted them recently. Here are my settings: set timeout timeoutlen=1500 ttimeoutlen=50 Yakov
