Hello dear Stefan, I had a few months ago a discussion in the vim-list wether it is possible to use VIM instead of a tool like Midnight Commander (I assume you're familiar with it 8-) ) for directory editing. (I just wanted to EDIT directories and their content from VIM). Maybe this could be of interest for you.
