OK, thanks, it did the trick: I did wipe .vimrc since I wanted to
start fresh, hence my problem.
But at least, now I know for what to search in the documentation ;-)

Assuming /usr/include exists on your system, are you sure you're starting Vim
in 'nocompatible' mode? IIRC, when 'compatible' the completion key is
different (Ctrl-E maybe?)
Try invoking Vim as
vim -N -u NONE
and see if you still have the same problem.
