Yes, but I thought there is a command in the window manager API that
allowed an application to make a request to maximize the window.
Maybe there is, yet even if there is, it doesn't mean that gvim takes
advantage of it. In particular, and in constrast with M$-Windows, under X
there are many possible different window managers. (I don't know but I suspect
that) this multiplicity might make the matter more difficult.
