Yes, I agree as I argued this way before.
On the other hand, since it obviously will go in, and since,
knowing it will go in, people report useful applications for it,
I would very much see it implemented in the most useful way, with
all other requests in other mails such as sin, cos, etc... especially
since it is reported it takes no time to implement and even less
to maintain. I don't see yet how could I use it, but it seems obvious
that people will find good usage for it. So let's make them happy
with a proper/reasonably complete (define reasonable) implementation.

This time is already "spent" to a large degree, let's retrieve it
by making that feature as useful as possible to most.
