I've done some trivial tests with :mz including:

# vim +':mz #f'

In a vim session:
:mz (win? (curr-win))

And of personal importance, a test of (in my .vimrc):
autocmd BufReadPost *.rkt runtime scripts/racket-auto-keywords.vim

No cores.
