Thanks, nice & concise. Not sure why the autocommands incrementing &
decrementing g:zbuflistcount on BufAdd & BufDelete... Your suggestion
works great, just added a % character

  :set stl=%{len(filter(range(1,bufnr('$')),'buflisted(v:val)'))}
