The switch that was mentioned earlier was not an HD switch, but a disk lock.

As for the hole puncher to make a non-high-density disk format as an HD
disk, just use a soldering iron (not a soldering gun). No shards. Melts the
plastic and works fine. Do it a certain way and you seal off the hole too.
Use a hobby knife to remove plastic that sticks out before it completely
cools.
