it's not part of aging, it's due to environmental factors (dampness for one). 
Bleach works kind of, especially the gel variety. But it's *selective*, meaning 
it'll bleach a patch here and there, and leave it splotchy looking sometimes. 
You can try repeating and see if all of it goes eventually. You'll want to 
season the plastic after you rinsed thoroughly also because bleach does in 
effect burn the plastic, and might leave it brittle. Maybe vegetable oils or 
some other strange concoctions out there. Check w/craft stores or even hardware 
stores. Or google it.
