Hope I can help here as I have, and still send compact Mac's
interstate here in Australia.

I buy those huge rolls of bubble wrap from Aust Post ($12.95) and wrap
the unit 3 times one way and twice the other. Then, one a long thin
piece of cardboard to secure it. The keyboard is also bubble wrapped.
Mouse, power cord and keyboard connection cord are placed in a "seal
it" plastic bag.
The worst part is finding the appropriate cardboard carton to send it
in. If the carton is slightly too big I might trim it down with a
sharp knife/cutter. When the unit is placed inside with the
accessories, I secure it with Styrofoam blocks/pieces and "fill" with
shredded paper and rolled newspaper. Also, a must have item for
packing is one of those sticky tape "guns" which come with 2 rolls
also from Aust Post ($18.95) in which I use about a 1/3 of the tape
per unit to bind everything in sight!

One last thing.....of all the units I have sent interstate, there has
been only one that failed. Interestingly enough, this particular one
was the only packed on it's back. Hence and, from that point, I always
send them upright!

Hope this helps.......

Phil
