Hello everyone, Just recently, I've had some time to play with my
Quadra 605. It works fine, but the HD and floppy were both broken. I
put in another floppy, and it boots just fine on various disk tools
disks. Ok so here's my problem: the smallest SCSI HD's I have
available are over 1Gb. I put in a 1Gb Seagate drive, and it spun up
and everything, but Disk Tool's HD setup or Disk First Aid didn't see
the drive. Can it even address drives this big? I don't think the SCSI
ID should be a problem, since there are no other SCSI devices present.
(Well I know about not using ID 7, I'm pretty sure it's not set on
that)
I also have an original DuoDock, and I put (I think) a 1.42Gb HD in
it, on SCSI ID 2, and it didn't recognize that either. That one is
already running OS 7.5.5, but I don't have SCSI set up or Disk First
Aid on it. One thought I had (for the Quadra) was to install an OS
from, say, a G3 Minitower, but I'm not sure which OS, because the only
one they'll both run is 8.1, and I don't have any OS8 install disks or
anything.
Thanks, any help would be appreciated, as I'd like to get my Q605 up
and running! (And more HD space for my 80Mb Duo 230...)

Cyrus
