Disk First Aid won't see it unless it's already formatted. I don't know what "Disk Tool's HD setup" is. "Apple HD SC Setup" won't recognize non-Apple sourced disk drives unless it's been patched. Newer versions of Apple's "Drive Setup" should work on any disk. But I have a suspicion that with OS 8.1 or earlier it may only work on IDE disks and not SCSI. > I also have an original DuoDock, and I put (I think) a 1.42Gb HD in > it, on SCSI ID 2, and it didn't recognize that either. (And more HD space for my 80Mb Duo 230...) You could try putting the HD into the G3 MT just to format it. After that move it back to the Q605 to do the install. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Vintage Macs group.
