To all,

I have been using System 6.0.8 and Finder 6.1.8 on an offline IIci since 1989.
I have installed 32MB memory after trying 128MB with no appreciable increase in
performance.

My internal HD is 1 GB.  I use three partitioned 2 GB  external HDs for
periodic backup.  I bought them at very low prices.  Each has the following
three OS installed: 6.0.8, 7.5.3 and 7.6.1 and all work.

System 6.0.8 will only use the first 16MB but OS 7.5.3 or 7.6.1 use the
whole of memory.  I use RAM Doubler with all three systems

My online CPU is a 533 DP G4 DA.

Marshall,
I got an error when I put in the second installation disk (system additions)
but it appears as is the OS was installed okay.
Also, when I check "About This Finder", it shows the following:

Finder:  6.1.8System: 6.0.8
Is that normal for the Finder and the System to show different versions? I've
never seen that before.

That will work. Or, you could just boot from the System 6 install disk.
