Well I would guess that means the drive should be ok. I maybe am
superstitious but I think sometimes a frozen state caused electrically
can be reset by unplugging the component and plugging it back in.
In any case a flaky drive can be cause by borderline problems in
cable/ connections. Termination should not be a problem with only one
device connected.
If you like I can send you copy of pdisk for 68k, but I am not sure it
works with system6. or which processor is minimum for it. It only
fixed partition not the format of the partition table at the beginning
of the disk.
If you have a newer mac around you might try putting the drive in
that. I have done this before for some older macs where the drive was
too much newer than the machine and it worked.
(a 4GB in my quadra 630 formatted on a beige g3 w/ 8.6)
Does SE run 7.1 ? I could at least check if my tools compatible with
that.
SE is 68020 right ?
