If something like this existed using it in an old Macintosh would be  
great. It would be much cooler and more silent - AND one can take the  
CF card out of the Macintosh into a newer one. Maybe using the  
extension bay the Macintosh SE has!?

There are CF-IDE adapters and there are IDE-SCSI adapters but I don't  
know whether that works because I think both the adapters need an  
extra power supply. It might be possible that the SE's power supply is  
not able to supply enough power. And it might be quite expensive.
