While I haven't read any magazines from the time, I did recently buy a used book, The Power Mac Book, which had an entire in-depth chapter on the emulator. Overall, I am impressed by the in-depth technical detail of that book, and I highly recommend it. It went beyond my expectations of what I thought it would cover.
