The Mac II has one socket for the CPU, one for the (optional) FPU and one for the AMU (can't do virtual memory) or PMMU, which enables the ability to do virtual memory. A bit of searching leads me to believe the LC has no ability to have a PMMU, so no virtual memory for it.
