Snow Lepoard decided that it would be nicer the play to the likings of storage media distributors than to the people who know and have grown up with the 1024 rule (as I call it) Snow Leopard likes it's KB to be 1000 bytes, not 1024. I do pray that Apple releases a patch for those of us who actually use their computers for more than internet, so that the Mac can be used in serious enviroments again.
