If you want to clear out the user, too, make a new user with the name
and short name you want, move everything out of the old user's home
folder that you want to keep (if anything), and delete the user. (From
the new user, in the Users pref pane.) This'll make it like a "new"
install, and you can set the preferences and everything how you like
them.
Also, G3 Macs aren't quite considered "vintage" just yet :) At least
not by LEM standards.
