I've managed to get a dead Mac II off a friend, which I've stripped bare. I now have all the IIfx components mounted in the II case as god intended. Unfortunately though, I'm still getting video issues. The two NuBus video cards I have on board don't seem to be able to get an image onto the screen. I've so far tried a 17" Apple Cinema Display (1998) and my standard 22" Benq LCD (with a VGA adaptor). Neither seem to be able to get a picture. No matter how long I leave it on or switch in between, the light still stays on standby. Can anyone shed some light on why this may be? In the current configuration, I have the motherboard and 2 video cards installed and attatched to the power unit, with the floppy drive installed as well (no SCSI HDD).
What NuBus cards are they? If they are the same vintage as a IIfx they likely use Sync-on-green. Most (all?) modern and not so modern monitors do not support this. Do you have an old Apple Monitor (Hi- Res, monochrome, etc) available to try on it.
