Those Performas are probably the sorriest designs Apple ever made. The 603 was actually a pretty good chip but was hobbled in those machines because of the architecture. Some of the faster 601 machines like the 7200/120 were better performers. I have a Quadra 700 with a 601 upgrade card and like it better than my 6200 but not better than my 6500. About the only thing those Performas are good for is taking out the motherboards and upgrading a Color Classic with them.
