i saw somewhere a reference to a composite video out circuit for use on a Mac 128k motherboard. it was a desktop hack that also had the machine running from an Apple IIgs power supply. i wouldn't think the video signals coming from the logic board would have changed much from the 128k to the SE but i don't really know. so it may be possible to hack in a useful video output and not have a CRT. it might also hurt the analog board not to have a CRT hooked up to it but i don't really know? lack of a load on the flyback? i don't understand these things well enough to say yes or no, but its something to think about ;)On Apr 8, 5:26 pm, Alex Barnes <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: > Is it possible to run a Macintosh SE FDHD without the internal CRT > connected?
Possible yes, safe, maybe. Wolf may be right about not having a load on the HV power supply might damage the supply. I'm an EE but I can't say for certain as I don't know the design.
Yes, I'm pretty certain the SE video out is the same as the previous machines.
