Hi,

You can swap the Flyback transformers between Compact Macs ranging from an
128K to a Classic.
Eventhough the part numbers are different, the flyback transformers can be
exchanged.

I would even recommand to use a flyback from a Mac SE or higher to repair an
128K/512K/Plus since these flybacks have bleeder resisitors inside.
Not all flybacks on a Mac Plus analog board have bleeder resistors: it
depends on the brand so best is to go for one from a Mac SE or Classic.

Always discharge the flyback transformer before handling the part as the
bleeder resistors inisde the flyback can fail !

The tube is also the same for all Compact Macs 128K -> Classic. There are
different brands, like with the flybacks, but you can exchange them without
any problem.
Just when swapping the tube keep the coil that's on it: don't swap this part
with one of another brand or things can get ugly...

Good Luck,

Nico

There are (or were) a great many different models of (horizontal
sweep) flyback transformer.

(The PSU also uses a flyback transformer, so there are really two of
them on a 120K, ..., Plus analog board).

The early non-bleeder-type sweep flybacks are no longer available.
Good thing, too, as these can be dangerous.

Since at least with the Plus, if not earlier with the 512K, all sweep
flybacks have been of the bleeder type.
