While I don't have one, the Velcro on the bottom gives me a great clue to what it was used for. Stick it to the side of your Mac, and drop the Mouse in when you're done for the day. No more mouse sitting on the desk taking up valuable space where your notepad or briefcase would go. It honestly sounds like a great idea for today, have a nice little "bucket" to toss your mouse in for college students, so that when they're needing their desk for a large book, or other thing. (Just talked to a co-worker here at the telephone company, they owned a TON of these buggers and that's exactly what they were used for, holding your mouse) Good luck. Hope that helps.
