Mine does 1120x870 256 colors on a 17 in (PC CRT) monitor very nicely ! Even 1280x1024 in 16 colors. I am not sure about wide screen formats though. And one flat panel I have I have had come up as grayscale on a PowerMac 8500 even though it has the sufficient VRAM to do all the colors.
