Might be hard to get a warranty on those at this point, they're pretty old.* If you can't get the current one working you might also try the LEMSwap list, the sellers there are usually pretty reasonable and up-front about issues. There have been half a dozen G3 iBooks in the last few months.
* The definition of "old" on this list is pretty subjective, naturally, but as far as guaranteeing reliability on a laptop, old enough that most people won't.
