Years ago when the LC575 was my main and only machine, I was running a stripped down version of 8.1 thanks to a programme called “Informinit” by Dan Frakes - I think. It took you through what each ext / cont pan etc did and if for example you didn’t have ethernet it would tell you what you can throw out. I went almost two years, without a crash / reboot etc and only sleeping the machine overnight.
