I tried a dell 15 inch and a 17 inch, the 15 inch had a V shaped base and
it would just blackscreen and present nag message about mode not supported,
the 17 inch (which I still have) has that oval base with the middle cut
out, it would just blink

no doubt there are a gazillion models of dell monitors, but those are the 2
I tried with no luck
